Life Coaching is about helping you to gain positive life balance. We can help one aspect of your life or many aspects of your life e.g. confidence, career, exercise, moving house, relationships, romance, self esteem, goal setting etc.

Health Coaching is about helping you to work with a dietary programme that will fit into your life, one which has healthy choices e.g. G.I. diet, food combining, etc. My aim is to empower you so that you feel in control of your way of eating and feel motivated to reach your goals. We may work with NLP to reframe old negative eating patterns into positive eating patterns, we will explore what motivates you. We will also explore exercise, which type motivates you e.g. yoga, belly dancing, jive, gym, keiser spin, body pump etc. Goals will be set and actions taken and you will be encouraged regularly to imagine your desired outcome.

Performance Coaching

In a way all 3 options interlink, if you truly want to perform well in your life, you need to feel: well, confident, energetic, free from health conditions that have a negative affect on your life, have the right skills, self esteem and a balanced happy life. What is important is exploring choices that make you feel happy. Focusing on success is not enough, a number of students have told me they choose their degrees because they will end up in a well paid job, then wondered why they were struggling with their modules, I asked them if they found their modules interesting. They said not really. So it is important to make career choices that you feel passionate about. ig?

My personal metaphor

As a life coach I see myself as a friendly guide who helps you to reach the top of your mountain with as much ease as possible, I help you to find the right track for you, one which you choose and feel comfortable with. We will map out your journey setting achievable goals, you will see a clear destination, until you reach the top of the mountain where you can now have a clear view and feel the benefits of your achievement. The ultimate reward is the beautiful scenic picture from the top of your mountain of the positively empowering life you have now created for yourself.

Childhood influences

Our childhood experiences can affect us as adults and even adult experiences can shape the person you are today. Awareness of how these experiences affect us can be quite useful. Once we know what is at the foundation of our fears, negative beliefs and blocks we can reframe our way of thinking to feel less fearful, more positive and more confident to move forward with what it is that you would like to do.  You may need to work on personal self development or work skills. We will also look at your life achievements and positive experiences.

There is no such word as 'failure' in the coaching vocabulary

If you have had a bad experience in life, you may feel as though you have not succeeded. This may not be true, we can reflect on the experience and see what can be learned to make it a positive experience. It is good to get feedback and learn from your experiences and to create a new approach. Also, sometimes it is not you who has the problem! it is how we approach a situation or who we approach that can make the difference.

Our belief systems

Because of life experiences and what we believe to be a 'lack of' we can go through life believing we 'can't have or do'. As William Shakespeare said 'nothing is either good or bad, but thinking makes it so'. We simply need to start by reframing our way of thinking into a positive state, this is known as NLP neuro linguistic programming. If we do not have the necessary qualifications or skills, then goals can be set and actions taken to gain them. What is important is that whatever you choose in your life whether it is a partner or new career, they are best meeting your values because your values are at the central core of who you are, your soul.

Rediscovering yourself, your abilities and your talents

We are not all meant to be academic or great at sports or have the most perfect body. We can if we really desire it, do a lot to improve these areas, to develop our self confidence and sense of achievement and this is positive. We are all unique individuals and that means that we all have something that we are good at, special talents, hidden abilities, strengths and weaknesses, etc. it just might be that we have not found that special talent or ability yet. Coaching helps you to explore what your talents and abilities are, what you feel passionate about, what makes you 'tick', so that you feel motivated to make a fresh start and take actions to achieve your goals.

What is it you would really love to do

Coaching encourages you to explore what it is you would love to do, what do you feel passionate about, what gives you a buzz. How about a future incorporating what you love to do e.g. you may not want to change career so you can fulfil this area in your leisure time or you may wish to change your work so that you are doing what you love to do.

Let us commit to your goal/s by setting actions in your diary

If you put 100% into whatever it is you want to succeed at, if you have the right skills, good health, knowledge, determination, imagination and support, you will succeed. If you have chosen a goal that you feel passionate about or the reward is so great that motivates you to be passionate about achieving your goal/s, you will succeed. Together we create a goal planner, we action plan in steps, carry out those actions working towards your overall goal/s. As the saying goes 'actions speak louder than words'.
